Christmas 2019 is almost here, and it’s about time to think about how you’re going to celebrate the holidays. Perhaps it’s your home lifestyle not to celebrate Christmas. That’s cool and all, but if your lifestyle is anything like mine then you’ll be celebrating this holiday season in full flourish. But part of my obligation in writing for this blog is to not talk about my lifestyle. I want to talk about all the possibilities out there so the most people possible can relate. What Do I Mean by “The Old School Way”?
I’m not old enough to reflect back on Christmas in the 1920s or anything, but I am old enough to remember when Christmas was more than just a time to get bargains on shopping. By enjoying Christmas the old school way I mean decorating the home, cooking Christmas dinner in the oven, pouring good quality wine, inviting friends over as much as possible, and sending post cards to all my loved ones.
If you still don’t have plans for Christmas 2019, here are some ideas:
- Getting the family together to clean the kitchen top to bottom, including behind all the appliances like the fridge, oven, dishwasher, etc. This will make Christmas dinner more beautiful, but you might have to clean the kitchen again after the dinner is over…
- To create good vibes in the home and save money on buying gifts, you could get everybody in your home or circle of friends to write a letter for each other saying all the good things you like about them.
- If you live alone and don’t plan on having anyone over you could watch some good Christmas movies.
- You could offer your services in a Christmas carol, putting up lights for your neighbors or removing snow to make some extra cash.
If none of these ideas speak to you, simply take the time to start planning. Create a planner and get your holidays started early. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy this time of year to the fullest! Either way, I hope your Christmas is the best it can be according to your home lifestyle!
